Russia can no longer defend Crimea from the air; Ukraine takes control of the skies over peninsula

Ukraine has significantly weakened the air defense of Russian occupiers in Crimea. Aviation expert and analyst Konstantin Krivolap expressed this opinion on Radio NV , assessing the Ukrainian strikes. "We’ve taken Crimea very seriously. During this time, there have been strikes there, including on all airfields. Kacha and Saki were hit very seriously. Now Kacha has been hit again, and it’s been damaged again," he noted. Krivolap added that Russian military correspondents had been "whining" about the whereabouts of Russia’s air defenses. "But there’s no air defense. It just so happened, the air defenses are running out. Because over all this time, we’ve pretty seriously thinned out the whole thing," the expert emphasized. He cited the example of a recent attack on the Feodosia point where the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system is located, protecting the Crimean Bridge.
"All our efforts, with the exception of, let’s say, the Luhansk region, are focused on the south. And I have the impression that we’ve already significantly depleted Crimea’s air defenses. The Russians are trying to somehow protect them, but it’s becoming more and more difficult every day. Because there’s nothing to defend Moscow, the Moscow region, or other regions with, since we’re stretching everything thin there," Krivolap emphasized. At the same time, he says, “the 27 towers that were erected around Valdai are perhaps the most powerful system currently in place, protecting a certain air defense facility called the ‘residence of the Russian president.’” As previously reported, military expert Pavel Narozhny noted that the Russians are increasingly deploying air defense assets to the occupied territories of Ukraine to stop the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ constant attacks on their military installations. According to Narozhny, there are three most protected areas in Russia: Moscow, Kaliningrad, temporarily occupied Crimea, and other occupied territories of Ukraine.
The expert also noted that, according to OSINT analysts, approximately 30% of air defense systems were removed from Moscow and Kaliningrad and transferred to the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories "in the hope of stopping the endless Ukrainian attacks that are coming wave after wave." At the same time, on Russian territory, air defense systems are present only fragmentarily, covering some individual objects. "That’s why we see the burning Tuapse Oil Refinery and the massive number of strikes on enemy territory. And they’re doing nothing to stop it," Narozhny added.
According to him, there are several reasons for this state of affairs. One of them, in particular, is that the Russians have not begun to develop an air defense system along the lines of Ukraine. This involves mobile fire teams, interceptor drones, and small aircraft. "I wouldn’t say we have complete air dominance. But their air defense system is so flawed that we can launch strikes both in the temporarily occupied territories and deep into Russian territory. This will continue. And they simply may not have time to restore this air defense system," Narozhny emphasized. He emphasized that Ukraine needs to stop Russia’s weapons production and shut down the Russian economy, so that it doesn’t receive funds to continue the war. This should have an impact on ending the war
