Russian drone hits U.S.-owned plant in Dnipro | Ukraine Brief

Ukraine is undergoing significant political and security developments this week, marked by a major reshuffle in the president’s office and leadership changes within the Security Service. After Friday’s appointment of Kyrylo Budanov, the former head of Ukraine’s Military Intelligence, as chief of staff, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday named Sergiy Kyslytsya, the former first deputy foreign minister, as his deputy chief of staff. Zelenskyy also appointed former Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland as an economic advisor, signaling a push to attract investment and support long-term recovery. Meanwhile, Russian forces continued attacks across Ukraine, killing at least four people, leaving thousands without power in Slavutych, and striking a U.S.-owned agribusiness facility in Dnipro, which caused a major oil spill. All this as Kyiv presses ahead with talks on security guarantees, with discussion with international partners expected later this month.
