An unusual accident in southern France
A 38‑year‑old driver mistook the accelerator for the brake while parking at La Ciotat’s municipal swimming pool.
Her sedan broke through a fence and the glass wall, landing in the main basin while swimmers were present.
Lifeguards and a bystander responded immediately, rescuing the driver and her five‑year‑old daughter from the submerged vehicle.
Local authorities have closed the pool to repair damage and recover the car.
