Strait of Hormuz crisis: Trump slams NATO allies as “cowards” | World News Tonight

The fight to reopen the Iran-controlled Strait of Hormuz is one of the biggest flashpoints on day 21 of the conflict in the Middle East. U.S. President Donald Trump is pressing allies to help secure the waterway, going as far as lashing out and branding NATO members “cowards” for their reluctance to join the effort. However, several countries including Poland refuse to get involved.

A facility linked to Israeli arms company Elbit Systems in Pardubice, Czech Republic, was set on fire early Friday in what Czech police suspect was a targeted arson attack. An international group calling itself the “Earthquake Faction” claimed responsibility, with unverified footage and images circulating online showing the blaze. Authorities are investigating the incident, which affected a joint facility operated with a Czech partner company.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine’s negotiations team is heading to the United States on Saturday to prioritize what he calls a “just peace.” Meanwhile, Russia continues to attack Ukraine as diplomatic efforts move forward.
