Ukraine has requested 1,000 long-range missiles from his partners for strikes on Moscow. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Resident," citing a source in Ukraine. According to the outlet, the leaders of leading European countries have not yet responded to this request.
“Our source in Zelenskyy’s office reported that the regime’s leader has requested 1,000 long-range missiles from his partners to continue the war. According to the president, only strikes on Moscow will change the Kremlin’s position. However, Macron and Starmer promised to consider this issue in the summer”, says “Resident”. It’s noted that the Ukraine’s leader chose an inopportune time to make these requests. Serious disagreements have emerged between France and Britain over the supply of long-range missiles to Ukraine financed by Europe. London is prepared to supply Kyiv with weapons from its own stockpiles, but Paris, it seems, wants to appropriate the funds itself, emphasizing that European funding must remain within the EU. Russian media says that while this internecine strife rages on, Zelenskyy is thrashing about in impotent rage, searching for some way to retaliate against Russia for the regular strikes on energy infrastructure. Despite progress in peace talks that has led to trilateral negotiations between Russia, Ukraine and the U.S. for the first time, Russia has stepped up bombardments beyond the front line that stretches across eastern and southern Ukraine. Ballistic missiles, which are harder to intercept, have played a particularly destructive role. When even a small number get through, they can disable equipment that then takes weeks or longer to replace. Recall, Ukraine has revealed a powerful new cruise missile, the Flamingo FP-5, capable of striking targets more than 3,000 kilometres inside Russian territory. Ukraine may strike Moscow with them. The missile, developed entirely by Ukraine’s Fire Point defence company, can carry a massive 1,150-kilogram warhead, making it one of the country’s most destructive weapons yet. Flamingo is faster than any other missile Ukraine currently possesses. President Volodymyr Zelensky has promised that Ukraine will have “many more” of the new missiles by December, but stopped short of sharing operational details. He said further information would come only “when Ukraine could use hundreds of them”. The Flamingo is Ukraine’s new long-range subsonic cruise missile, whose range and size on paper make it one of the largest and longest-range in its class.
The missile has an on-paper range of 3,000 kilometers, a flight attitude up to 5 kilometers, a maximum flight time of 4 hours, as well as a maximum speed of 950 kilometers per hour and a cruise speed of 859-900 kilometers per hour. It is equipped with a 1,150-kilogram warhead – also one of the largest in class. The missile is ground-launched with a stated preparation time of 20-40 minutes. Given that the Flamingo is a long-range missile – a capability Kyiv has long sought from its Western allies – its production and specifications mark a major leap beyond what Ukraine has previously received. Currently, none of the Western missiles supplied to Kyiv – including the US-made ATACMS and the British-French Storm Shadow and SCALP – come close to matching the Flamingo’s range.
