The Swedish Coast Guard and police have detained the vessel Jin Hui, which is suspected of belonging to Russia’s shadow fleet.
This was reported by the Swedish Coast Guard press service.
The detention took place in Swedish waters at around 2:00 p.m. as the vessel was heading toward the Baltic Sea.
According to SVT, it was intercepted southwest of Trelleborg.
This is the fifth vessel inspected by Swedish authorities in a short period. On April 30, Sweden confiscated the dry cargo ship Caffa, which was illegally exporting Ukrainian grain from territories temporarily occupied by Russia.
According to MarineTraffic, Jin Hui sails under the Syrian flag. It is being towed to a berth for further investigation, and the crew has not been detained.

According to the War and Sanctions project, the tanker with IMO number 9430272 is the only vessel associated with Jinhui Shipping Ltd (Marshall Islands), which may indicate an opaque ownership structure.
The vessel is under sanctions by Ukraine, the European Union, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
The tanker is designed to transport oil and chemical products. It was previously established that at the time of detention it was empty. Its length is 183 meters, gross tonnage is 29,169, and deadweight is 46,105 tons.
