Syrian Security Forces have entered the northeastern city of Qamishli as part of the implementation of the agreement between the government and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, known as SDF. Several videos released in social media capture the widespread popular welcome for government forces as they enter the city on military vehicles. Residents are holding Syrian flags and waiving at the government troops as a sign of welcoming them. Other videos from Al-Yarubiah, Al-Shaddadi, Ajaja and Tal Barak in Syria’s northeastern Hasakah province capture protests by residents who demand the expulsion of the SDF militia from their province. The protesters are holding the Syrian flag and chanting slogans. Syria’s army moved into the city of Hasakah on Monday under the deal with the SDF.
