U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that the United States would not deploy its troops as part of any potential peacekeeping mission on the territory of Ukraine.

Following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the representatives of European Union countries, Donald Trump told Fox News that he guaranteed American troops would not be deployed on Ukrainian territory.
Later, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Trump’s statement and emphasized that “American troops will not be on the ground” as part of any potential peacekeeping mission.
It’s worth noting that the deployment of American troops to Ukraine had been a topic of discussion in the United States for some time. While no clear position had been publicly stated until now, the U.S. government’s stance appears to have shifted significantly.
According to some officials, President Trump’s perspective may have changed following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The talks, known as the 2025 Russia-United States Summit, focused on exploring potential pathways to end the war in Ukraine and advancing efforts toward a lasting ceasefire.
