The Pentagon has announced plans to withdraw 5,000 U.S. troops from Germany over the next six to 12 months, following earlier threats by President Donald Trump to reduce America’s military presence in Europe. The decision comes amid rising tensions between Washington and European allies over the conflict involving Iran and broader disagreements on security policy. More than 35,000 U.S. troops are currently stationed in Germany, accounting for the majority of American forces in Europe.
