Ukraine Attacks Air Base in Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Where Russia Launches Shahed and Gerbera Drones

The Security Service of Ukraine attacked the military air base in Prymorsko-Akhtarsk, from where Russia launches Shahed and Gerbera drones at Ukraine.

The attack on the air base was reported on the official Telegram page of the Security Service of Ukraine.

The target of the attack was the storage and launch sites for Shaheds used to attack Ukraine. After SSU drones hit the air base, a fire broke out in the area.

The agency noted that long-range drones had been used to attack the airfield.

In addition to the statement of the Security Service, the fact of the attack on the airfield is also confirmed by NASA satellites, which recorded several fires on its territory at 02:52 on August 2, 2025.

According to the map, the fire spread to the runway, airplane parking lot, warehouses, and other parts of the surrounding area.

It is worth noting that according to satellite images from December 2024, shelters were being built on the territory of the air base in Prymorsko-Akhtarsk.

The images show an erected metal structure and a concrete base around it.

In addition to the fortified individual aircraft shelters, satellite imagery also showed the construction of less protected lightweight shelters.

These structures are made of traditional frame structures and are located in group parking lots where combat aircraft are usually prepared for takeoff and weapons installation.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that satellite images had confirmed the damage to aircraft and air defense after the recent SSU attack on Kirovske air base in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Thus, according to satellite images, the destruction of the Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile system and three helicopters, which cannot be identified at this time, was confirmed.
