Ukrainian military destroyed a Russian Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system at a firing position in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region. the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, wrote about this on his Telegram channel. According to military officials, the destroyed Tornado-S system is a modernized version of the Smerch MLRS, which boasts increased accuracy and a range of up to 120 km. The system uses precision-guided rockets and is one of the most powerful in the Russian multiple launch rocket system lineup. The Unmanned Systems Forces noted that these are the very systems the occupiers are using to strike Ukrainian cities, specifically Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Sumy, Kherson, and Nikopol. The released video captures the moment the Russian installation was destroyed at its combat position.The Tornado-S is a modernized multiple launch rocket system, considered one of the most powerful in the Russian military. It is capable of firing precision-guided munitions and hitting targets at ranges of up to 120 km. Previously, it was claimed that, if used correctly, this system could serve as an operational-tactical missile system and strike targets deep behind enemy lines. This is why it is sometimes referred to as a potential "Russian HIMARS." The Tornado-S missile range includes the 9M542, 9M544, and 9M549 guided missiles. The system can also use 9M534 reconnaissance munitions, which are launched by a T-90 drone during flight to conduct reconnaissance and transmit data to a command post. Recently, Ukrainian Special Forces fighters destroyed a rare Russian electronic warfare system, the KOP-2 , using only two drones. Ukrainian forces also destroyed an R-330Zh Zhitel electronic warfare station , valued at approximately $10 million.
