The 80th Separate Air Assault Galician Brigade has released footage of the successful defence of the Sumy region, where strike UAV operators methodically destroy the occupiers’ assets.The video captures a series of precise strikes on enemy infantry, artillery, and equipment. The paratroopers also focused on "blinding" the enemy by destroying communication antennas and identifying concealed shelters. According to the military, the work is carried out in a cold-blooded and effective manner, allowing not only the elimination of enemy manpower but also the steady strengthening of Ukrainian positions along the border.
Recall, the border with the Russian Federation has effectively become the front line, where active fighting and intensive shelling continue, using aviation, artillery, and drones. This picture remains current for the region, where defending the state border bears the main burden in repelling the enemy.
In a television briefing on the border situation, the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, spoke.
He noted that the enemy is trying to attack the positions held by our troops with assault groups. Along the border in the Sumy region, the overall situation remains tense: the enemy continues assault actions and attacks quite often, including in areas where units of the State Border Guard Service are deployed. As an example, Demchenko cited yesterday’s actions within the Yunakivska community toward Varachyne, stressing that the enemy continues such actions.
“The enemy is trying, with its assault groups, to attack the positions held by our soldiers. In general, speaking about the entire border within Sumy region, including the stretches where the State Border Guard Service units are stationed. For example, yesterday assault actions were repelled within the Yunakivska community toward Varachyne. And if we talk about this stretch overall, the enemy does not stop such actions and carries them out very often. …Our soldiers are repelling these attacks, and the enemy suffers heavy losses”, Andriy Demchenko says.
According to him, the enemy is most actively trying to expand the zone of control within the Krasnopilska and Myropilska communities, as well as in the Shostka district. At the same time, Russian statements about creating a “buffer zone” do not reflect reality – Ukrainian defenders are preventing the enemy’s advance.
Renchyk of the State Border Guard Service noted that the border with the Russian Federation has effectively become the front line, where active fighting and intense shelling continue, with the use of aviation, artillery and drones.
“The enemy is unable to advance from the border or even into those combat zones, especially within the Yunakivska and Khotynska communities, to widen its zone of control by pushing deeper into Ukrainian territory”, – Andriy Demchenko says.
According to the State Border Guard Service, the Russian forces have not succeeded in creating a buffer zone along the Ukrainian-Russian border, despite attempts to move deeper into Ukrainian territory.
The situation along the border line remains tense: border guards and defense forces continue to hold positions, keeping the situation under control and ready for further actions in the event of increased pressure.
In this case Joint Forces Grouping spokesperson Viktor Trehubov says that Russian invaders are trying to break into the village of Popivka in the Sumy region. However, they have had no success and cannot establish a foothold there. "In Popivka, the Russians tried and are trying to push in, but without success; they are not establishing a foothold," the spokesperson said.
He also added that the Russian invaders are mostly using UAVs against the village. According to Trehubov, the village had been emptied earlier, as civilian residents had been evacuated from there at the beginning of the year.
