A scandal erupted in Russia over a broadcast by propagandist Kirill Fyodorov, which acknowledged the technical inferiority of the Russian army and claimed that Ukraine had surpassed Russia in both military communications and drones. Following this, Fyodorov was fired from Vladimir Solovyov’s channel, the Kremlin mouthpiece. Ukrainian blogger Denis Kazansky drew attention to this incident . "My personal opinion: Ukrainians are outperforming us. We have communication problems; historically, our army has had communication problems ," Fedorov’s interlocutor said on air. He then simulated a situation in which hostilities would cease, after which Ukraine would redirect the freed-up funds into the development and production of drones, where it already outperforms Russia. “And they in the development of drones, unfortunately, are good ,” Fedorov agreed with him. Propagandists noted the quality of Ukrainian tactical drones, emphasizing that Ukraine is focusing on knocking out infantry. Fedorov then began to praise Ukrainian drones for the quality of their images. "Look how they maintain the image. Their radio drones maintain the image practically all the way to the ground… Their repeaters are more advanced, they have much better resistance to electronic warfare. They have a base station that simultaneously operates fiber optics, and these FPVihi," the propagandist declared. The participants then complained about problems with drone repeaters, stating that the occupying forces are not receiving them. They also acknowledged that the best repeater is satellites in space, but Elon Musk had disabled the Russians’ satellites, and the Russian Federation has no satellites of its own. Thus, Fedorov and his interlocutor directly refuted the claims of other Russian propagandists who claimed that the shutdown of Starlink would have no impact on the Russian army. "Starlink was used extensively… The main advantage of such communication systems is their high autonomy and very low weight—it can be hidden anywhere ," Fedorov’s source noted. The propagandist acknowledged Russia’s poverty and stated that it could not afford to produce such systems, calling for "partnership" cooperation with other countries, such as China or India. Fedorov, in turn, liked the idea of cooperation with India, since "Russia, most likely, will not fight with it," but with China things are different. "We need to partner with countries with whom we won’t be in conflict over the use of, say, satellites. Obviously, not with our closest neighbors. I don’t rule out war with China ," the propagandist said. In other words, Fedorov directly predicted a war between Russia and China – a country that the Kremlin now considers its main strategic partner. Under these circumstances, Russian propagandists do not rule out the possibility that China will occupy certain territories of Russia.
