On the night of September 30, a Ukrainian Magura naval drone was discovered on the coast of Turkey.
According to the Turkish media outlet KuzeyEkspres, the drone was spotted by fishermen near the city of Trabzon.
The report said: “Our fishermen found a fiber boat at sea last night and brought it to the port. Authorities came and inspected it. It was determined that there was a bomb inside. The boat is sitting in our port… The bomb squad is coming.”
They tied the suspicious object to their boat and towed it to the shore. After that they reported the incident to the coast guard.
Given the possibility of explosives, the drone was sent to the port Yoroz.
The authorities restricted civilian access to the surrounding area to avoid security risks.
Turkish media published photos showing a relatively undamaged Ukrainian-made Magura naval drone used to destroy Russian military targets.
Magura is a multipurpose unmanned surface ship. The hydrodynamic body and sleek profile allow the device to move stealthily with excellent maneuverability.
“It’s an affordable solution that can be easily launched from any remote location. The unmanned control of the V5 minimizes the need for human resources to carry out missions, reducing potential mortality when operating in harsh environments,” the developers say.
The new development can perform intelligence surveillance, patrolling, search and rescue operations, mine countermeasures, naval protection, and combat missions.
The length of the drone is 5.5 meters; the width is 1.5 meters. The device is capable of developing a speed of up to approximately 77 kilometers per hour, while the payload is 320 kg.
