The Exilenova+ Telegram channel published a video showing a fire at one of the plant’s facilities.

According to local residents who witnessed the incident, Workshop No. 11 at the plant is believed to be on fire. However, there is currently no official confirmation.

The main products of the KuibyshevAzot plant include caprolactam, polyamide-6, industrial yarns, ammonium nitrate, urea, ammonium sulfate, ammonia, and nitric acid.

The company is among the leading producers of chemical products in Russia.

The plant is one of the largest producers of caprolactam and nitrogen fertilizers, and a supplier of raw materials to the chemical and textile industries.

Caprolactam, in particular, is used to produce polyamide plastics and synthetic fibers.

On March 9, an explosion occurred at one of Russia’s largest chemical plants, PJSC Akron, in the city of Veliky Novgorod. The enterprise produces about 6 million tons of commercial products annually, with ammonia, urea, and nitrogen fertilizers being among its key products.
