In temporarily occupied Armyansk in Crimea, drones struck the building of the border guard service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the monitoring Telegram channel “Krymsky veter” . It is noted that the attack on the FSB border guard building was carried out on the evening of May 5. The attack resulted in a fire. Local residents also said that a nine-story building in the city was damaged. The Telegram channel added that explosions also occurred in Simferopol and Bakhchisarai on the evening of April 5. In addition, local residents reported on social media about strikes on the Kacha airfield and facilities in Sevastopol. The Telegram channel noted that explosions were also heard between Simferopol and Bakhchisaray in the area where Russian military training grounds are located. Recall, the Ukrainian Navy struck Russian boats guarding the Kerch Bridge in occupied Crimea on April 30. “The forces and means of the Ukrainian Navy inflicted damage on the Russian naval fleet in the Kerch Strait area,” the Navy said in a Telegram statement. “As a result of the strike, the enemy suffered irrecoverable and sanitary losses,” the statement added. The Navy said the vessels are key units of the Coast Guard of the Border Service of FSB and the Russian Navy, used to guard the Kerch Bridge and counter sabotage operations.
“This is another example of the effective work of the Ukrainian Navy and the consistent reduction of the enemy’s capabilities in the Black Sea,” the statement said. According to the report, the strike hit the Russian Federal Security Service patrol boat Sobol and the anti-sabotage boat Grachonok. Prior to the incident, Russia was reported to operate around 11 such boats in the Black Sea and Azov Sea regions. The Kerch Bridge, also known as the Crimean Bridge, spans the Kerch Strait and connects Russia’s Krasnodar region with the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula. Opened in 2018 after Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea, it serves as a key logistical and symbolic link, enabling the transport of military equipment, fuel, and personnel to support Russian operations in southern Ukraine. The bridge has been repeatedly targeted since 2022. Earlier, Ukraine’s drone wing says it has killed at least 12 officers and injured 15 others in a strike on a command post for Russian Federal Security Service, The Independent reported. Unmanned Systems Forces commander Robert "Madyar" Brovdi confirmed the attack yesterday in occupied Donetsk, and said Ukrainian forces used FP-2 drones manufactured by the Ukrainian defence company Fire Point. He said the command post hit in the attack is responsible for sabotage operations, building intelligence networks, recruitment, carrying out terrorist attacks and arson, and coordinating Russian proxy forces. The drones can carry up to 100kg payloads and are used for medium-range strikes.Moscow is yet to comment on the attack. Earlier, military observer Denis Popovych stated that the Russian invaders in temporarily occupied Crimea are most afraid of the Ukrainian landing. According to him, the Russians are already intensively mining the coast. Popovych noted that the Russian occupiers see that “someone is in Crimea and someone is striking their facilities.”
