On the night of December 17, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched strikes against Russia’s oil refining industry and military-industrial complex. Plants in the Krasnodar Krai and Rostov Oblast were hit.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this. Deep Strike assets struck the infrastructure of the Slavyansky oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, Krasnodar Krai. Explosions and a fire were reported in the target area. The extent of the damage to the refinery is being determined. As of 2025, the company processes crude oil and condensate with a capacity of approximately 5.2 million tons per year.

The morning after the attack, the Operational Headquarters of Krasnodar Krai reported that the drone strike damaged two high-voltage power lines, causing blackouts for over 38,000 people. At the time of the report, 13,000 people were still without power.
Two people were also injured by falling drone debris, officials said.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that 31 Ukrainian drones were shot down over Krasnodar Krai during the night.
A hit was also confirmed at the Nikolaevskaya oil depot in the Rostov region. According to preliminary reports, a storage tank and the river vessel "Captain Gibert" were damaged. "Furthermore, as part of efforts to reduce the enemy’s offensive potential, a field artillery depot belonging to a unit of the 101st Separate Logistics Brigade of the invaders was struck in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk Oblast," the statement said. s stated, the losses are being clarified.
