Ukrainian Forces Destroy Russian Base in Snizhne

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have destroyed a Russian military base in the temporarily occupied city of Snizhne in Ukraine’s Donetsk region.

According to analysts from the CyberBoroshno OSINT community, the strike was launched late on May 19 using attack drones. Footage shared by the Telegram channel Exilenova+ showed a massive fire at the site after the attack.

Russian troops had established the base in buildings near the abandoned Udarnik coal mine, which was located within the city.

According to OSINT analysts, the Russian invaders used the facility to manufacture drones and train drone operators.

Videos and photos published by eyewitnesses show extensive destruction and a major fire at the strike site.

Russian forces occupied Snizhne in 2014. The city is located in the eastern Donetsk region, near the Russian border. It is currently about 100 kilometers from the front line.

The city is considered a deep rear-area hub for Russian forces and is used as a logistics center for the war against Ukraine.

In early July 2022, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed a large Russian ammunition depot in Snizhne near the Snizhnyanskkhimmash plant. In late June, Ukrainian forces also struck a base in the same area that housed Russian military equipment.

On April 22, 2026, drones operated by Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces destroyed a command center of Russia’s FSB Mobile Operations Directorate in the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk.

The facility belonged to an operational unit responsible for counterintelligence missions, sabotage and special operations, the creation of agent networks, and the coordination of pro-Russian armed groups.
