An unknown drone crashed in Kazakhstan near the border with the Russian city of Orsk.
According to the residents, at about 8:30 a.m., they heard a rumble from the fall of a heavy object, after which, according to BAQ.kz, an explosion was heard.
Fragments of the drone were found about 2.5 km from the village of Alimbet, a settlement of about 1,000 people located directly near the border with Russia.
As a result of the impact or ignition of the drone in the steppe, dry vegetation caught fire over an area of about 500 square meters. Rescuers went to the scene and extinguished the fire.
“The object was found outside the settlement. All circumstances of the incident are being established,” the press service of the Aktobe Region Police Department reported, adding that the department, together with authorized services, is inspecting the drone fragments.
Kazakh authorities have not officially reported the origin of the drone. It is known that strike drones attacked the large Orsknefteorgsintez oil refinery in Orsk earlier in the day.

This is far from the first such incident in western Kazakhstan. Over the past year and a half, drones have fallen there at least six times. In some cases, it was established that they were Russian drones.
