The United States has destroyed more than 120 Iranian vessels, 44 minelayers in the Strait of Hormuz, US Air Force General Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said at a Pentagon briefing on Thursday. The destroyed military targets include fast missile boats and mine-laying platforms. “We’re flying further to the east now and penetrating deeper into Iranian airspace to hunt and kill one way attack air since destroying Iran’s ability to project power outside of its borders,” Caine added. US Department of Defense and Central Command released footage showing the destruction of strategic vessels and missile boats of the Iranian Navy as part of the Epic Fury operation that was launched jointly with Israel on February 28. According to a statement from US Central Command, all military targets posing a threat to international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters are being systematically neutralized. General Dan Caine, remarked: “We decided to share the ocean with Iran—we gave them the part under the water,” declaring that Iran’s naval combat capability has been completely eliminated. The released videos show, second by second, the sinking of Iranian frigates using U.S. Mark 48 heavy torpedoes, as well as A-10 attack aircraft destroying small boats in the Strait of Hormuz. Not only ships, but also coastal cruise missile depots and intelligence centers have been obliterated with bunker-buster bombs. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that Iran’s missile production capacity has been reduced by 90% and that Tehran no longer has the ability to mount any serious resistance at sea. Strait of Hormuz is a strategic route through which 20 percent of the world’s oil supply is transported. The Pentagon’s aim in releasing the footage of the operation in Hormuz is both to create psychological pressure within the Iranian regime and to send a clear message to international allies that the Strait of Hormuz will soon be completely secure.
