President Donald Trump has repeatedly warned the leaders of Iran that the nation could "get hit very hard" if Tehran kills any protestors, as the regime has done in the past during civilian unrest. Anti-regime protests have been ongoing for nearly two weeks.
"We’re watching it very closely. If they start killing people like they have in the past, I think they’re going to get hit very hard by the United States," Trump told reporters on board Air Force One on Sunday evening as the president returned from his Mar-a-Lago resort to the White House.
The United States Department of Defense has several ways of hitting Iran very hard, but there are numerous challenges.
