The Defense Forces of Ukraine conducted successful operations. The Ukrainian military highlighted that Prymary’s latest strike demonstrates the effectiveness of Ukrainian weapons and the skill of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence. During January, fighters of the Prymary special unit of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine hit 6 objects of enemy air defense.
In the course of frosty January, Prymary destroyed the expensive elements of the enemy’s anti-aircraft defense along the entire line of battle. This time, the following were the victims of precision strikes by military scouts: "Pantsir-С1"; "Tor-М1"; "Tor-M2" together with the transport-loading machine; radar complex "Nebo-M"; RLS "Protivnik-GE". DIU special forces also struck an enemy protective structure for weapons and military equipment. Recall, the "Alpha" Center, a special operations force of the Security Service of Ukraine, caused $4 billion in damage to Russian air defense systems in 2025. According to the information, special forces over the past year disabled radar and air defense systems located both on the front line and in rear areas, including S-300, S-350 and S-400 complexes, as well as Buk and Tor missile systems and Pantsir surface-to-air missile and artillery systems. "This work had a systemic effect: Corridors were opened in the Russian Federation’s multi-layered air defense system, ensuring safe passage for Ukrainian long-range drones deep into enemy territory — to military bases, warehouses, airfields, and other military facilities," the SBU reported, praising its Alpha special forces unit. The SBU’s claim comes as Ukraine continues its efforts to grind down Russian combat capability from afar, trying to compensate for being outmanned and outgunned on the ground. It is difficult to independently assess how much effect Ukraine’s attacks with homemade long-range drones are having on the front. The SBU regularly reports its attacks on Russian air defense systems in the Moscow-occupied Crimean peninsula and deep inside Russia.
