Ukrainian Special Forces eliminitaed enemy group in Yarova village Donetsk
Soldiers of the 8th Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces destroyed an enemy group that infiltrated the territory of the village of Yarova in Donetsk region, taking advantage of difficult weather conditions.
The results of the operation were reported jointly with the Special Operations Forces; details remain within official situation reports for the region.
The invaders entered the settlement to reconnoiter the Ukrainian defenders’ firing positions and the locations of drone crews.
The Russians captured a local resident, tortured him, and demanded his cooperation. The SSO operators intercepted the man during the enemy’s execution of a new assignment. After a quick interrogation, they launched a raid.
«Two subgroups conducted reconnaissance of the building where the enemy was hiding. A firefight ensued that lasted several minutes», Command said.
During the operation, three Russian invaders were eliminated, including a mercenary from Africa with the call sign “Malik”. The defenders also captured enemy documents, weapons, and radios.
Additionally, the reports note that the tactical group of the third regiment of the Special Operations Forces conducted a cleanup of an industrial facility on the Pokrovsk direction. Dmytro Petlin, head of the duty service, communications, notification, and public information division of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration’s Civil Protection Department, reported that in Donetsk region, 14,200 civilians remain in areas of active hostilities, with no children among them. “Across the settlements of 20 communities designated as areas of active hostilities, 14,200 civilians remain,” Petlin said, adding that there have been no children in these territories for a long time.
According to him, since February 2022, more than 1,317,600 people have been evacuated from Ukrainian-controlled settlements in Donetsk region, including over 201,700 children and 47,300 people with disabilities.
In the past week alone, 600 people left Donetsk region for safer areas.
A total of 196,200 civilians currently remain in the territory of Donetsk region controlled by Ukrainian authorities, the administration official noted.
