Strike drones attacked the thermal power plant in the city of Voronezh on the night of November 9, resulting in power outages in several areas of the city.

At the time of the attack, powerful explosions were heard in the city, as reported by local residents.
According to published photos and videos, the strike location was identified as the Voronezh TPP-1 (Thermal Power Plant-1).
Voronezh TPP-1 is located at 2 Lebedeva Street and is owned by RIR Energo. According to open data, its installed electric capacity is 378.3 MW, its thermal capacity is 1,389.3 Gcal/h, and it employs around 430 people.
It is the largest thermal power plant in the city, supplying heat to four districts – Levoberezhny, Zheleznodorozhny, Leninsky, and Central – as well as to more than a thousand enterprises, including the Voronezhsintezkauchuk plant.
Meanwhile, official authorities, represented by Alexander Gusev, the governor of the Voronezh region, confirmed that several drones had been shot down over the city and that a fire had broken out at one of the “utility facilities,” which was later extinguished. According to him, “for technological safety reasons,” the electricity supply was temporarily suspended.
Militarnyi previously reported that early in the morning on November 6, the Kostroma Power Station – the third-largest thermal power plant in Russia – was hit.
