War-Tested Ukrainian Armored Vehicles Attract Interest from Foreign Militaries

Ukrainian manufacturers of armored vehicles and military trucks are beginning to prepare for entry into the international market amid growing interest from foreign partners in war-tested equipment.

Delo.ua reported on foreign partners’ interest in Ukrainian armored vehicles.

Ihor Fedirko, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Council of Defense Industry (UCDI), clarified in a comment to Militarnyi that the following companies have the potential for international expansion:

  • Ukrainian Armor with the Novator and Varta vehicle lines,
  • NVO Praktika with the Kozak and Dzhura series of armored vehicles,
  • Inguar Defence with the Inguar line of armored vehicles,
  • UKR ARMO TECH with the Gyurza family of vehicles.

Foreign armies are showing increasing interest in Ukrainian armored vehicles, mobile anti-drone platforms, and other solutions adapted to modern warfare.

Some of these platforms have been in military service for a long time, while others were developed based on experience from full-scale warfare.

According to Fedirko, in 2025 the Ministry of Defense standardized the new Varta-2 and UAT.GYURZA-02 models and approved the Dzhura armored vehicle for service.

Mobile electronic warfare systems integrated onto vehicle platforms have become a separate area of development for the Ukrainian defense industry.

These are vehicles equipped with electronic warfare modules, antennas, power supply, cooling, and communication systems, which can be used as mobile anti-drone platforms to provide cover for logistics, armored vehicles, or mobile units.

“It is important that foreign partners look not only at the vehicle itself as a hull on wheels. They are interested in the complete configuration. This includes armor, mobility, protection against drones, and the ability to install electronic warfare systems, communications, sensors, and medical or command modifications,” Fedirko emphasized.

A key advantage of Ukrainian solutions is their rapid adaptation to new threats, primarily the widespread use of drones.

At the same time, full-scale exports of Ukrainian weapons remain limited for now, as the state’s priority is to meet the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Despite this, the industry expects that the first controlled export contracts could begin as early as the second half of 2026, following the completion of product certification and the preparation of service infrastructure.

Ukrainian manufacturers anticipate that the opening of controlled exports will allow them to utilize excess production capacity without compromising the front lines.

In addition to armored vehicles, foreign partners are also particularly interested in Ukrainian maritime drones, FPV systems, ground-based robotic systems, and anti-drone technologies.

Previously, Ukrainian armored vehicles were successfully demonstrated in Peru.
