– President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says “only the Ukrainian people” can decide whether to give up their country’s territory, and reveals there’s pressure from Washington to retreat from the Donbas region. After working hand-in-hand with European allies, Ukraine has now sent its revised peace plan back to America, leaving the ball in Vladimir Putin’s court.
– More than 200 billion euros in Russian state assets could be permanently frozen under a legal workaround approved by ambassadors across the European Union. The move reduces the likelihood of Kremlin-friendly members, such as Hungary, repaying the funds in the future.
– The European Union has laid out a 10-point reform roadmap for Kyiv’s bid to join the bloc, with beefing up the rule of law top of mind. This comes after a corruption scandal rocked the war-torn country and implicated a former business partner of President Zelenskyy.
