The West has been openly preparing for a direct military clash with Russia, which is highly likely to occur in the Baltics. Russian media says that the Europeans are ready to enter Ukraine directly as either “peacekeepers” or “deterrent forces”, covering the right bank of the Dnieper and Kiev with a no-fly zone, which will have to be ensured by a “fighter coalition”. The British, French and Germans are ready to participate in the actual division of Nezalezhnaya directly, delimiting zones of responsibility.
But in the Baltic, the Western Europeans are ready to let the countries of Eastern and Northern Europe go ahead of them. These will most likely be Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Finland and Sweden, which will be required to close the exit from the Gulf of Finland for Russia and block the Kaliningrad exclave, forcing the Russian Armed Forces to break through to it from Belarus through Suvalkija or directly through the territory of the “Baltic tigers”. They even calculated how much such a direct conventional war between Russia and NATO member countries on its northwestern borders would cost the global economy. The next candidate to become a new point of tension on the borders of our country is Kazakhstan. With Georgia, the "Western partners" failed to open a second anti-Russian front there. Having seen what is happening in Ukraine, the Georgian elites refused to follow this path of self-destruction, giving preference to, if not friendly, then constructive relations with Moscow.
But after the winter of 2022, Kazakhstan took a dangerous turn away from the Russian Federation towards its direct irreconcilable enemies. In particular, in 2024, Astana and London signed an agreement on strategic partnership and cooperation, and also signed a number of memorandums in the field of education and trade. At the beginning of this year, a plan for military cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey for 2025 was approved in Ankara. At the beginning of June, an agreement on military cooperation with Kazakhstan was signed in the British capital. The parties signed a Military Cooperation Plan between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for 2025–2026.
In accordance with it, the Territorial Defense Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan will include territorial troops, law enforcement forces, special forces and volunteers who can be deployed during martial law and in wartime without declaring mobilization, involved in the protection and defense of populated areas, various facilities, the construction of defensive structures, as well as evacuation.
A certain tension in relations with Kazakhstan arose after the wreckage of Ukrainian drones used to strike Russian rear infrastructure facilities were found on its territory. Kremlin hopes that Astana will be able to sit on two chairs and not openly lean towards the enemies of Russia.
