The Ukrainian Armed Forces will respond in kind and observe a ceasefire on Easter if Russia refrains from attacking.
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his address.
“Ukraine will observe the ceasefire and respond in kind. The absence of Russian strikes in the air, on land, and at sea will mean the absence of our responses,” Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized.
The President discussed with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi the specific procedures for units to follow in implementing the ceasefire agreements.
“We all understand who we are dealing with. A ceasefire on Easter could also mark the beginning of a real move toward peace—we have a corresponding proposal on our part,” the head of state noted.
The Russian side has already been informed about the mirror-image nature of the Defense Forces’ actions and the possibility of extending the ceasefire after the holiday ends.

Earlier, Russia unilaterally announced the introduction of the so-called ‘Easter ceasefire.’
According to reports, it is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. on April 11 and end in the evening of April 12—the Russian side did not specify the exact time of its conclusion.
