GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) — Three people died in a house fire south of Raleigh on Tuesday morning, according to Garner Fire-Rescue’s interim chief, Barrett Penny.
The call to respond to the home along the 9800 block of Ten Ten Road came in at 9:38 a.m. and the first crew was on scene five minutes later, according to the chief. As more crews were called to the scene, CBS 17 saw fire engines, medical personal and law enforcement personnel arrive from the Wake County Sheriff’s Office.
Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, Chief Penny could not comment on many specifics, but said three victims were found in the home deceased on a first search of the home. There is no word on the identities of these three individuals, Penny said.
Garner Fire-Rescue, Fairview Fire Department and Fuquay-Varina Fire Department had crews working to put out the fire. The scene has now been handed over to the Wake County Fire Investigator’s Office for further investigation.

The home is located within the Garner Fire response area near the intersection of Rand Road.
A traffic alert from the Wake County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded alongside local fire departments. It is unknown at this time how many people were in the home at the time of the fire or what necessitated the involvement of law enforcement.
“We are asking drivers to seek an alternate route and allow first responders the space to work safely,” the traffic alert said.
