ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. (WNCN) — Three people, including a man who was shot, are facing charges in connection with a shootout in Roanoke Rapids Thursday, police say.
According to the Roanoke Rapids Police Department, officers responded to a reported shooting in the 300 block of Monroe Street, where they were told a shootout happened between people in a vehicle and a person in a home.
While at the scene of the shooting, according to Roanoke Rapids police, officers learned a man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound. They went to the hospital, where they located the suspect vehicle.
The man who was shot, 22-year-old Kemahja Graham of Enfield, was determined to be involved in the shooting. Two other suspects in the shooting, 23-year-old Angelica Dominquez Tejas and 24-year-old Dashawn Phillips, were also found at the hospital and detained, according to Roanoke Rapids police.
Officers said Dominquez and Phillips are both charged with discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling. They made their first appearance in Halifax County Court on Friday morning and were each given $10,000 secured bond. Their next appearance is scheduled for August 28, according to court records.
According to Roanoke Rapids police, a warrant charging Graham with discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling has been filed. Graham is continuing to be treated for his injuries as of Friday.
