Two arrested after shootout at Raleigh Sheetz on New Bern Avenue, police say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Raleigh police have announced that two people were arrested in connection with Wednesday’s shooting at Sheetz on New Bern Avenue.

A spokesperson with the Raleigh Police Department said that officers arrested two people who were behind the shootout, where roughly 50 shots rang out in the parking lot of the gas station. Officers said the shooting occurred around 2 p.m. in the afternoon.

Witnesses said the scary scene began when two men started fighting inside the store, but then they grabbed their guns and started firing outside the store.

Officers said the search for suspects was taken all the way to the Food Lion behind Sheetz, where they searched aisle by aisle.

The spokesperson did not disclose the identities of those arrested by the Raleigh Police Department. They will release more information later today.
