DALLAS (KDAF) — Lovers Lane Worship is a movement of grace, inclusion, and theology through song. Born from a group of talented friends who wanted to make music that reflects all of God’s people, this Dallas-based worship collective creates soundtracks for the outcasts, the broken, the marginalized, and their allies.
Their message is clear: everyone is fully known and fully loved by God.
Singer Rev. Dede Jones, Pastor at Crosswalk at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, who, along with her husband Jeff Jones, took the band’s message one step further with a new book titled Blame It on Jesus—a title that turns heads, but for all the right reasons.
“What we’re blaming on Jesus is love,” Rev. Dede Jones explained. “We believe that how we walk this earth and how we work with one another is through love.”
The book was inspired by the original song, Blame It, and together, the two form a powerful pairing of melody and message. You can grab the book now on Amazon and stream the music wherever you get your worship—on Spotify, iTunes, dedejonesmusic.com, and more.
“We’ve all been in those places where we’ve had to fight for something,” Rev. Dede Jones said. “But God says, ‘You are created in My image. I don’t make mistakes.’ Every single person is not just accepted but fully loved.”
She leans into the commandment of compassion:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Love your neighbor as yourself.”
