RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Police are still investigating what led to a dump truck overturning and shutting down multiple lanes overnight Thursday on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers were called to a motor vehicle crash around midnight Friday on Capital Boulevard just underneath I-540.
Officers said they located the overturned dump truck which was traveling under the interstate down Capital.
Officers said the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, three right lanes were closed on Capital Boulevard for nearly three hours. The notification said Capital Boulevard reopened around 3 a.m.
