GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) — The Wake County Sheriff’s Office has announced that deputies are now investigating the house fire on Rand as a homicide and arson.
According to a news release, first responders actually saw that the victims in the house fire had gunshot wounds. Deputies said investigators are looking into the circumstances around this incident.
Deputies said the cause of the fire is also under investigation, with the suspicion that the fire was set intentionally. They also said they believe the incident was isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
“We ask that the community continue to keep the family and friends of the victims in their thoughts and prayers,” Sheriff Willie Rowe said. “Thank you to our investigators and partnering agencies who continue to work hard during this investigation.”
CBS 17 previously reported that two teens and one man died in a house fire on 90 Rand Road near Ten Ten Road in the Rand Meadows neighborhood in Garner. Two pet cats also died in this incident.
It was also previously reported that the house was home to multiple domestic disputes.
