CLEVELAND (WJW) – The FOX 8 I-Team has found flights at Hopkins Airport were briefly disrupted Tuesday after an incident involving a person in a secure area.
Multiple sources tell the I-Team a man jumped an airport fence after an accident.
It happened near Brook Park and Grayton Rd.
Police took the suspect into custody and then took him in an ambulance for medical evaluation.
Airport spokesperson Michele Dynia wrote in an email, “Around 11:30am there was a motor vehicle accident on Brookpark Road. Preliminary information reveals that one of the occupants then exited their vehicle and jumped the fence to the airport. An Operations Agent located the male and apprehended him. Police and ARFF were called out to the location of the suspect. During the apprehension of the subject, a ground stop was issued to ensure the airfield is safe before resuming operations. Operations have since resumed. This incident is currently under investigation.”
