PRICE, Utah (ABC4) — Large amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine were seized in a drug bust at a Price residence Thursday night, according to Price Police.
“As many of you were sleeping, a large number of your local law enforcement and first responders were busy with a significant drug bust and fentanyl exposure at a residence in Price,” a press release from Price Police states. “The Carbon Metro Drug Task Force (CMDTF) applied for and were granted a search warrant for a residence in Price which also happened to be located directly next to a child day care facility.”
At around 9:40 p.m. on July 17, the Carbon Metro Drug Task Force, with the help of Carbon County SWAT, Price Police, and the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant at a Price residence. Authorities secured the scene before one of the suspects “alerted to the possibility of fentanyl powder exposure,” the release states.
Police confirmed the presence of a large amount of suspected fentanyl inside the residence. This prompted authorities to evacuate the entire multi-resident complex due to shared ventilation in the building.
Out of an “abundance of caution,” authorities requested the response of Carbon County Hazmat. Once the scene was deemed safe, police conducted their search and found approximately seven pounds of methamphetamine, over two pounds of fentanyl, over five ounces of cocaine, and multiple weapons.
The names of those arrested are not being released at this time, police said.
“We want to thank our first responder partners as this was truly a group effort and we are very appreciative of their assistance, time, and expertise,” the release from Price Police states. “You can provide tips to the Carbon Metro Drug Task Force by calling 435.637.8477.”
