LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – The Clinton Police Department said one man was arrested and charged with murder in connection to his roommate’s death.
On Wednesday, June 25, officers were called out to a home on Popular Street for a welfare check after neighbors reported not seeing one of the occupants in over a week.
Upon arrival, officers reported finding a dead person inside the residence. Further investigations said the victim was allegedly murdered.
The sheriff’s office stated the roommate of the victim, the current suspect, was arrested on scene.
23-year-old Stephen Kristopher Brown has been charged with one count of murder, one count of desecration of human remains, one count of ill treatment of animals, and one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Brown is awaiting a bond hearing at the Johnson Detention Center.
This remains an active investigation by the Clinton Police Department.
