ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) was alerted to shots fired in the 3400 block of Cherokee Street, where a minor was reportedly shot.
SLMPD says the shooting happened just after 7:30 p.m. on Monday in the Benton Park West neighborhood. The minor was rushed to a hospital in a police SUV, according to officials.
FOX 2 has yet to learn what caused the shooting or the extent of the juvenile’s injury. As of now, SLMPD reports that a Public Information Officer is responding to the incident.
Officials have told FOX 2 that they are searching for the weapon that was used in the shooting.
