SEVIER COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — Fire crews are on scene of a new fire burning southeast of Monroe in Sevier County that started Sunday afternoon.
The Monroe Fire is burning in an area of mixed timber and is currently 50 acres, according to Utah Fire Info. The fire is currently visible to drivers on I-70.


Approximately 40 to 50 structures in the area are threatened and evacuations are underway per the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office. Monroe Canyon Road is closed and air resources are currently on scene.
Fire crews are asking people to avoid the area and not report the fire unless new activity is seen.
