CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person is dead and two others have been injured after an overnight shooting in Uptown, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
Around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, officers were called to the 200 block of North Caldwell Street, where they found two people shot. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Later that night, officers were alerted that a third victim from this shooting had taken themselves to the hospital. That person has non-life-threatening injuries.
A homicide investigation has been launched. Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting or if anyone has been arrested.
