LENEXA, Kan. — Lenexa police are investigating a deadly shooting involving an officer and a suspect that happened early Sunday morning.
According to police, the shooting happened around 3 a.m. Sunday at an apartment complex near 97th and Rosehill, just west of the Oak Park Mall.
Police say the shots were fired near the clubhouse of the Lenexa Crossing apartment complex.
Officers were originally called to the scene for an “armed disturbance.” As of 7 a.m. Sunday, the scene is still very active with multiple police agencies investigating.
Police said no officers were injured in the shooting and they are not looking for any more suspects. The Johnson County Officer Involved Critical Incident Investigation Team is investigating the shooting.
