Person wanted for Navy Yard shooting that left boy hurt

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Police released surveillance images of the person detectives say shot a 15-year-old boy in Navy Yard on July 4.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said the shooting took place around 8:20 p.m. in the 1100 block of Half St. SE. When officers arrived, they found the teenager who had been hit by gunfire. He was awake and breathing when DC Fire and EMS took him to the hospital for treatment.

MPD shared three images of the person wanted for the shooting.

Police asked anyone who recognizes the person in the surveillance images or who knows anything about the shooting to call (202) 727-9099. You also may text your tip to the Metropolitan Police Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.

A reward of up to $10,000 is available to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for any violent crime committed in the District.
