DALLAS (KDAF) — For those looking to escape on a solo adventure, new research has identified the best cruise lines, with P&O leading the ranking.
The study by Croatia Cruises analyzed 16 major cruise lines based on single cabin prices, staff-to-passenger ratios, and shore excursion offerings to determine which provides the best experience for those traveling alone.

According to the findings, P&O Cruises is the best cruise line for solo travelers this summer, with an overall score of 93.27 out of 100. It has the lowest average daily rate among all cruise lines analyzed – at $245.45 – and provides three staff members per passenger. With 1,133 possible shore excursions per ship, P&O also gives solo cruisers opportunities to explore destinations.
Princess Cruises comes second with a score of 73.86. Solo travelers pay an average of $299.87 per day, with three staff members per passenger ensuring a comfortable experience. The cruise line offers 820 possible shore excursions per ship, giving independent travelers plenty of options for exploration.
In third place, Cunard scored 64.82 points. With daily rates of $316.88, two staff members per passenger, and 882 possible shore excursions available, Cunard gives solo guests numerous opportunities to discover new destinations.
The study also found that Disney Cruise Line ranks last, with a score of just 15.54. The cruise line charges singles a steep average of $805.09 per day, with only two staff members per passenger and 318 possible shore excursions, making it the least favorable option for solo travelers.
