SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A semi-truck driver was killed in a rollover crash on I-80 Sunday morning, according to the Dept. of Public Safety. The incident caused heavy traffic delays in the area.
At around 9:20 a.m. on July 6, a semi-truck was heading westbound on I-80 near mile marker 110. For an unknown reason, officials said, the semi veered to the left and went into the center median.

The vehicle reportedly rolled onto its passenger side, hitting the center cable barrier. Two individuals inside, a driver and passenger, were extricated by medical personnel after the crash.
The passenger was taken to a local hospital by ambulance, while the driver was taken to the hospital by helicopter. The driver was pronounced deceased at the hospital, officials said.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — One lane of Eastbound I-80 is now open. Drivers can expect delays through the area or use SR-201 as an alternate.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A crash has occurred on I-80 in Salt Lake City, causing heavy delays in the area, according to the Utah Dept. of Transportation.
The crash occurred on Westbound I-80 at Milepost 111, at approximately 7200 W in Salt Lake City. Westbound traffic is reportedly using the shoulder at this time.
Eastbound I-80 is closed, according to UDOT Traffic. Traffic is using SR-201 as an alternate.
“Plan for heavy delays between Tooele and SLC,” UDOT Traffic posted on X.
