(FOX40.COM) — Traffic in Stockton is being impacted after a big rig trailer overturned Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP said the crash happened just before 6:20 a.m. on the Fremont Street/State Route 26 on-ramp, onto southbound Highway 99.
“Subsequently, the trailer did overturn, and all of the contents, the recyclable metal contents of the trailer, spilled out onto the roadway,” said Aaron Keller, a sergeant with the California Highway Patrol.
Officers confirm that hydronic fluid from the semi’s trailer leaked onto the roadway, prompting a Caltrans crew to use a sand-type absorbent to clean up.
Sergeant Keller adds that he believes the driver was on his way to a recycling center when he crashed. The man was not hurt, and DUI and speed do not appear to be contributing factors to the crash.
The ramp is expected to be closed for the next couple of hours as crews clean up.
This is a developing story.
