Shots fired at Sheetz on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh, police say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A heavy law enforcement presence is at a Sheetz gas station in Raleigh after a report of several shots being fired Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, around 2:02 p.m., officers responded to a Sheetz at 5200 New Bern Avenue. Officials said that over a dozen shots were fired on the scene.

Officers said that everyone involved in the shooting left the scene. Preliminary information suggests a suspect had shot a gun, striking a vehicle in the parking lot.

Police have not said if there have been any serious injuries or other details in regards to this incident.

Police ask the public to avoid the area as officers continue their investigation.
