PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Police have identified the suspect in a SE Portland stabbing Sunday afternoon that left one man dead.
According to Portland police, officers responded to a Southeast Portland home at around 3:20 p.m., where they found a man, still unidentified, stabbed to death.
Within 40 minutes, police said they had detained a suspect.
On Monday, police identified the suspect as Juan Jose Olguin, 28, and said that he is currently facing charges including second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
A friend of the victim, Marcus Ortiz, described the victim as a “great guy.”
“He was always happy, talking to everyone and smiling at the other team, even though we were down, like, two goals to zero.. He’s still, like, having fun. And he’s just a great guy,” said Ortiz.
