DALLAS (KDAF) — July 2 is officially National UFO Day, and with 50 to 100 new sightings reported every single month across the U.S., it’s clear America’s fascination with extraterrestrials is still booming.
A new report dug deep into more than 150,000 reports from the National UFO Reporting Center (spanning five decades) and cross-referenced them with social media posts to reveal the states where you’re most likely to catch a sighting of a UFO.
Texas ranked 6th. The odds of a UFO sighting in the Lone Star State are .073%, or 1 in 1,370 people, which is higher than 44 states. A total of 21,905 UFO sightings have been reported in Texas alone.
However, it was California that ranked in first place, followed by Washington, Florida, Oregon, and New York to round out the top five.
