Woman taken to the hospital after early morning house fire in southern Wake County: Officials

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Multiple emergency responders are on the scene of a disruptive house fire that sent one person to the hospital early Thursday morning just outside of Raleigh.

According to a division chief with the Fuquay-Varina Fire Department on the scene, crews were called around 2:50 a.m. to the 10600 block of Fanny Brown Road. The chief said they began to battle an active fire on the inside and rear of the home.

There was one woman who was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries to be treated for smoke inhalation, according to the fire chief. No other injuries were reported.

CBS 17 was on the scene where several fire engines from multiple departments, including Garner Fire Rescue, Fairview Rural Fire Department and Fuquay-Varina Fire Department, were all on hand to put out the flames.
