For the deaf community, finding Auslan-fluent allied health providers in Canberra can be impossible.

Deaf ACT secretary Louise Irvine agrees finding Auslan aged care and allied health services in Canberra is a major problem.

"We struggle with getting support workers, getting information in Auslan and it’s not just having things interpreted," Ms Irvine said.

"There aren’t any aged care facilities that have the support required. There’s no one with Auslan skills to communicate with the people when they’re there.
